Real RAW Girl Power !!!

The Slits undoubtedly inspired nations of defiant women to pick up guitars and aim them at the audience.
The Slits were way ahead of their time with hybrids of dub, punk ,reggae, African rhythms, jazz +funk. Making loud, brash + unpredictable anti~music. visionary plotters;being the first all girl punK group --Ari Up ,Palmolive , Viv Albertine and Tessa Pollitt replaced founding members, Kate Korus and Suzy Gutsy.
{y3 LP} features live tracks and demos that mostly predate their first official releases, but the music here is as great as those classics -- and possibly even more striking in its raw power and bold energy. It's a great way to hear the early ideas of the group come together without much studio tricks or production -- and since the heavier dub of the full albums is missing.
"I am the essence of punk," says ARi Up. "But I’m uncomfortable
calling myself that. It’s unacceptable to shock today. If I did now what I did back then, I’d be thrown in jail."
