Sacrilege was founded in Birmingham, England and was led by vocalist Tam Simpson (female singers in this scene were pretty rare at the time), they were one of the most influential bands for the trash and crust scenes. They quietly split up in the early '90's, but are still regarded as an important band; both as an influence on later thrash and doom metal bands and as an example of blending punk and radical politics that occurred during the 80's.
